Perhaps she should have felt a little sadder for leaving the inn in such a quiet way, but alas her mind was far from those thoughts. She leapt down from the wall with a tumble of a flip and landing out of sight. Men and women were waking from there nightly slumber, doors of wood creaking open as she caught the wafting smell of freshly baked bread.
Dusting her legs off out of habit, Sarylin peeked out of the small alleyway before she nonchalantly stepped out to greet a few curious eyes of the public.
The long cascading stairway that lead up into the richer parts of town, weren’t heavily guarded as one may think but still possessed a pair of fully decked out men. There armour alone could kill someone if it was dropped on them without a moments notice.
Combing back her bangs, attentive eyes searched the perimeter before checking her attire and moving forward.
What would happen between her and the guards must have been an act of god. There was some discernment of her status, but carrying the preserved letter with the obvious wax seal of her king was enough to prove her story. It was funny how a little stamp into wax could make the difference to anyone. If she had been a woman of a ill heart, the idea of using this gift would have been very tempting.
Standing in the second class tier of the kingdom was amazing to see. Everything around her was splendid and spectacular, vivid and dazzling. Out of thought, she could only wonder how much more the first class ring would be like. She felt awe spread through her as she forced her mouth to shut while a pair of men turned a curious eye to her. Clearing her throat, she reminded herself she had a job to do and it wasn’t gawking at the wondrous sights either.

As she returned his greeting, Jae would give her a soft smile that would widen slightly when he would recieve her permission to sit with her at the table. Grasping the back of the chair he would pull it out, being careful not to let it scrape against the floor before settling into it. Crossing his arms to lean against the table he would glance about the room carefully before letting his eyes settle onto Nayiah.
"Do you know if Sarylin is still here or if she left already?" Jae would ask her curiously as he wondered about the intriguing freckled elf and if she had gone to try to deliver her letter yet. He couldn't help but feel slightly concerned as he wondered if she would be able to get to the higher town on her own. Sure she was dressed as a messenger, but some of the guards and nobles had the bad habit of being cruel to anyone of lower class, even if on official business.
"Good morning Jaelyn, and Nayiah. What would you like for breakfast today?" Elzy would ask as she bustled up to the table, the elderly woman smiling warmly to the both of them. Jaelyn returned her smile, having come to find Elzy's smiling face something to look forward to in his mornings. Her warmth helped him forget the demons of his nightmares.
"Morning Elzy," He returned her greeting, before allowing Nayiah to order what she wished for her breakfast. As for himself he would take a moment to consider the question, inhaling the scent of freshly baked bread, telling him that Elzy had most likely just made a fresh loaf. "I'll have the same as Nayiah please," Jae would tell her with a pleasant smile stretching his lips, that he would turn to Nayiah once Elzy had nodded and left to get their breakfast together.
"I...uh, slept through the night," Jae answered her uncertainly his smile disappearing only for a moment before he forced it back to his lips, shrugging his shoulders. "And how about yourself Nayiah?" He asked in return quickly, hoping to keep the conversation away from himself. Although he hadn't lied to her about how he had slept, he hadn't been entirely truthful of course. He really didn't like lying to others, and so preferred to avoid any questions that would cause him to have to lie.
Leaning back then in his chair he'd lift his hand to run his fingers through his soft hair, tucking it behind his long pointed left ear before he turned his eyes to the window on the same side to glance out. The day was already looking to be a nice one and he couldn't help but wonder it would hold for him. It was nice that he'd had company for part of his day yesterday but he doubted either girl would want to stick around as they seemed to have their own concerns. Which he of course couldn't blame them for.
"So, if it's not too personal, may I ask what you have planned for your day?" Jaelyn would turn another slight smile to the feline woman as he posed his question in a friendly but casual manner. He didn't want to make her think he was trying to snoop into her personal life after all.

~Returning the smile with her own, Nayiah watched Jae sitting down. Though hearing Jae asking her about Sarylin. She shrugged not really sure where the female messenger. Looking at Jae with curiousity, she would try to clear her throat before trying to answer. Sadly her throat felt parched and she needed water.~
"No, I don't know where she is. I don't know if she left or if she's sleeping. All I know is that it was quiet when I came down here. I wonder if she went out to deliver that letter."
~Nayiah answered Jae's question. Hearing Elzy's voice, Nayiah glanced at the woman. Smiling at Elzy. Nayiah returned the greeting back.~
"Good morning."
~Nayiah glanced at Jaelyn as she smiled nodding at his comment. Watching Elzy leave to work on their order, Nayiah glanced at Jaelyn hearing his answer to her question.~
"Well that's good."
~Nayiah said a bit nervous. Though hearing Jae's question she rubbed her neck as she looked a bit unsure of what to say.
"Ummm no not really."
~Nayiah answered telling the true. She hadn't. Nayiah had spent too much of the night worrying about those men, instead of being able to relax. And when she finually did fall asleep it wasn't nearly enough hours of a full nights rest. If Nayiah had known how exactly lonely Jaelyn was, she would've honestly felt bad for him. Perhaps she would have even tried to stick around and be his friend too. Hearing Jae's question she glanced at him in surprise. Though she shook her head. She didn't find his question too personal really. Truth was she wasn't sure what she would do for that day. She honestly wanted to tell someone that she had spent so long running she didn't honestly know what to do with her life. But she hadn't yet.~
"It's not."
~Nayiah would answer him. Pausing she would brush her bangs from her face as she noticed his smile. She returned one with her own. Even though Nayiah seemed a bit lost in her expression.~
"I honestly don't know, Jae. What I will do today...you see..I've never thought about planning what I would do for any day. What with...running...from"
~Nayiah caught herself not sure if she should bother Jae with her problems. As she looked at him. She couldn't do that to him. That would've been selfish.~

Elegance of her ears burned as she glanced about wondering if someone was talking about her. Silly superstitions but it was hard to contend with when the oddity of the situation did just that. Rubbing a hand over her ear lobe, feet pattered in a weave like pattern through the first class commoners, as she tried to keep her eyes in a forward like state. It was god given luck she hadn’t been bothered by the royal class, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t being devoured by looks from each passer by. She decided to herself that she wasn’t going up to the royal palace; this was already so far out of her element that it made her skin crawl.
She was the preverbal fish out of water.
Twirling agile fingers around her hand to pin back some fray strays of hair behind her ear, Sarylin moved skittish feet promptly through the crowd. She may have not appeared like she was paying attention, but she managed to wind a way through the upper class without a ruffle of their clothing. She was close to them but moved like a ghost. Some noticed her and others ignored her completely or were just unaware.
Time was finally on her side. Standing before the splendid polished golden armour of the guard, she gave a flick of her wrist to produce the letter to him. Her mouth remained tight, her eyes pressed to his damn near flawless features while the gems of pure untainted copper – round, sophisticated and alluring – the man noted the seal far quicker than most. She knew it would be reflected in poor taste if he refused to deliver the letter, as it bore another kingdom crest in the wax. Perhaps this was the best route, she would be able to return home without another worry.
After a few quick words, the guard slipped the letter into his armour with a promise of a lord to make sure it reached its destination. She had faith in the man, there was a reason he was a guard to the higher ranking citizens. He would be a very honourable being and she felt no need to dwell on fear of it never arriving.
Her body turned with a swirl, cascading her hair in a halo around her before she took to swift feet to disappear back into the second class tier then the lower class where she felt the air was alright to breath. It almost seemed like if she took a swallow breath on the higher class territory, she would have been stealing. But alas it was a involuntary function and she had been kissed by lady luck to allow her easy passage.
Feeling the cobblestone beneath her heels, Sarylin took a darting glance to her left, then to her right. She was a free woman again, such an odd feeling for one bound to the law of her king after damn near ten months. She felt a little lost but the smile on her lips may have said otherwise.
Stretching her hands up to cross behind her neck, she let the warmth of the sun kiss her shoulders as she began to trace her feet towards the grand gates of the city. There was no point in her lurking around here a moment longer. What would any free person do? They would return to a place of tranquility and that was exactly where she was going. The trek would be equally as long to weave one self from the forested foothills of the lands back towards the deep north of the jutting mountains of cold and ice. But she was eager and happy to do so.

To Nayiah's answer regarding the whereabouts of Sarylin, he would nod softly and smiled his thanks for her answer his question. It wasn't like he had expected the female elf to stay and wait for them, but Jaelyn couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that she wasn't there, whether she was upstairs or already gone. Knowing his luck, he figured it'd be the last he'd see of the friendly woman, which to him was a shame. But he'd keep that disappointment to himself as he didn't want Nayiah to think he'd come over just to ask that, since that wasn't why he had.
As she stated that it was a good thing he had slept through the night he would only give a simple nod. He didn't really agree with her about it, but since he didn't wish to talk about it he wouldn't make any sort of disagreement. Although when she would mention that she hadn't slept well, he would give her a slightly sad look.
"I'm sorry to hear that Nayiah," Jae would tell her sincerely as he looked to her, noting the haunted look that had appeared in her oak brown eyes. He didn't want to pry into her personal life however and so would not inquire into it. Besides that, Elzy would appear again from the kitchen as she would lay the plates down in front of them, the fresh food steaming softly to show it was still warm and fresh. Deeply inhaling in the delicious scent that wafted from it, Jae would look down to the food that was well prepared as always. The eggs were nice and fluffy and the bread toasted nice and evenly with a good amount of butter spread on it.
"Thank you Elzy," He thanked the innkeeper with a generous smile and pressed the coin from his meal into her hand. After getting the coin for Nayiah's meal as well, she'd head back into the kitchen after cheerfully telling them to enjoy their breakfast. Watching her go, he'd shake his head before turning back to his food, his stomach telling him it wasn't a moment to start eating. Picking up his fork he would liberally scoop the fluffy scrambled eggs onto the toast before biting into it and letting the taste melt in his mouth. It was definitely a wonderful breakfast.
Although he'd eat quickly he also ate neatly, not a bit of his manners forgotten since being exiled. In fact he'd be working on the last of his food as Nayiah had answered his question about what her plans for the day were. Blinking at the fact she stopped herself from fully telling him what she was going to say told him she wasn't sure about speaking about it, or she was playing games like the nobles did. Either way, it meant she did want to talk about it and if he showed interest she probably would. The question was whether or not he wanted to ask about it.
Chewing on his food as he mulled all of this over, silent because he was eating and not one to talk with his mouth full he would decide that he might as well ask. He may have his own problems to deal with, but just listening to her problem could possibly help her and if not he didn't have to get involved anyways just because she told him. So, once he was finished his food he would lift the cup of water that Elzy had brought out as well, taking a nice long drink of it to clear his palate and wash down whatever was still in his mouth.
Once he'd placed the cup down gently on the wooden table, he would give Nayiah a soft smile, crossing his arms over one another as he leaned over his empty plate slightly to watch her for that moment. "How about we go for a walk? I find it helps me digest my food well, and if you feel like telling me what troubles you, I'm willing to lend an ear," Jaelyn would suggest casually to her, before waiting for her reply. If she were to say yes, he'd rise from his seat then before pushing it back into the table neatly and moved to the inn's front door. Waiting for her there, he'd open it, letting her take the lead before following her out the door and closing it gently behind himself.
As he stepped out into the sunlight, Jae would turn his face upwards slightly to allow it to wash over him, taking a moment to enjoy it and allow the light to chase away the lingering darkness that clung to him from his restless night. The breeze played with his long silky hair, causing the ends to flutter out lightly before he opened his eyes and started forward, allowing Nayiah to lead. Until he was spoken to, he would remain silent, his hands in his pockets as they walked along the cities streets.

~Hearing Jae's words, Nayiah looked at him noticing the sincerity. Nodding her head as Nayiah gave him an appreciative look. She genuinely felt comforted at the thought that Jae's words spoke truth in them. Nodding her head as she tried giving Jae half smile. Oak brown eyes studying him.~
“Thank you, Jae. It couldn't be helped. But thank you for your kindness.”
~Nayiah replied truly meaning it. As Elzy appeared with their food, Nayiah smiled thanking the woman. She looked at her breakfast, with a delighted smile. She neatly ate her eggs leaving her toast for last. Nayiah ate neatly and slowly. By the time Nayiah had finished her eggs, she noticed enough yolk was on her plate. She gently grabbed the buttered bread, and wiped the egg yolk on it. A satisfied smile showed on her face, as she took small bites. Chewing her food silently, Nayiah always loved this part after eating her eggs over easy. Having left enough coin to pay for the meal on the table, Nayiah was grateful for the woman's great hospitality.
It wasn't like Nayiah had stopped what she was going to say, because she didn't want to tell Jae. It was more so it was hard to say it. Nayiah wasn't the kind of woman to play games. She knew that would easily get her into trouble. Grabbing her glass of water, Nayiah would slowly drink it. Gently wiping her mouth once she was done even though Nayiah hadn't anything on her face. It was out of habit. Though hearing Jae's question, Nayiah looked surprised. Seeing his smile, she returned it with her own. Gently nodding her head in response, Nayiah pondered for a moment.~
“Sure.”
~Nayiah would agree with a soft smile. Giving Jae an appreciative look. She felt touched when he had mentioned about being willing to listen. Smiling Nayiah would give him a thankful smile. Never had she met anyone in such a long time, who was so considerate. Nayiah stood up walking away from the table. Giving Jae a smile when he opened the door for her. She thanked him. Once they were outside, Nayiah glanced at the sky as she tried to find her words.~
“Thank you for being so kind, Jae. It isn't that I don't want to tell you. It's more so it's hard to say it. Basically what I was trying to say was I spent so long running. Because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I witness a noble murder someone. A commoner at that. Because I witnessed it, I was a loose end to get rid of. I ran. I've been running since. I honestly don't even know if I'm still being chased. So that's why I honestly don't know what to plan for a day. I haven't really stayed in one place for long. I miss it, I would love to be able to be around people, be friends with people and not have to run anymore.”
~Nayiah paused only briefly glancing at him. Glancing at Jaelyn briefly, oak eyes studied his reaction at what she told him. Once he had reacted she would speak again.~
“I didn't want to bother you with my problems. Well that's what I kept telling myself. Most people prefer not bothering people with their stuff. I don't know.. But I do appreciate your kindness, Jae. And wanting to lend an ear.”
~Nayiah admitted softly as she thanked him. She continued walking finding the scenery almost soothing.~

Moving gently through the bustle of patrons coming out to get the best pick of fruits and breads before anyone else; though the idea was clearly had by many. Sarylin hadn’t made it too far from the stairway leading up to the higher classes only raising her slight frustration. But, she kept herself calm cool and collected as she knew pushing and milling about would only cause more struggle rather than solve anything.
Hugging her arms close to her body, ears were pinned back as she squirmed through until she just popped out of the crowd like a loose slippery bar of soap. Fumbling a couple steps forward, arms flailed about wildly in hopes to catch her balance before she tumbled face first into the cobble. The small surprise chirped up through her throat, eyes large with fear as she looked more like a wind mill than an elf.
Sucking in a breath, filling her lungs past full capacity Sarylin spread her fingers out wide to plant the palms of her hands on the smooth worn stone of the road, tipping her body over to try and recover herself as she fell downwards. Cold rocks felt thick under her hands as she let out the huff of air with her weight pressing down on her shoulders with gravity pulling in defiance as she arched her legs up and over to fall down to the earth.
Heels clicked and clacked with her knees buckling causing her to fall to her rear end as she managed to somehow recover her fall. Though she sat on the road way looking very much like a clown.
A deep blush spread over her face making her freckles darken as she peered up to the odd glances of some and apparently of everyone else.
Tucking her hands to her chin, Sarylin let out a exasperated whine as she sat there unmoving feeling utterly foolish. What a way to make a scene.

Jaelyn would listen as she spoke to him about being kind, as he would slightly shrug his shoulders. Not to brush off her appreciation mind you, but he didn't really see it as being a big deal so much. Not interrupting her either he would keep himself silent, occassionally glancing over to her so she knew that he was still listening but making sure that he didn't run into anything or anyone. Although as she got to the part about witnessing a noble murder a commoner, a grim expression crossed his face and he would shake his head sadly.
"Even when I was considered nobility, I always despised how easily some took the lives of others, even if they were just commoners. I'm sorry you have to deal with something like that," Jaelyn would drop his bright aqua eyes to the ground as he spoke, disgust evident in his voice. He'd apologize to her, feeling slightly bad even though it wasn't directly his fault. Just having lived as part of that class almost made him feel responsible.
Meeting her eyes after he'd spoken, he would smile a little to her as she told him she appreciated his kindness. "It's not a bother Nayiah, sometimes people just need to have someone listen to them," Jaelyn would say with that casual shrug again. Personally he wouldn't have mind getting his own problems off of his chest, but he was too afraid that his problems would scare her away. And she had enough of her own things to deal with that she didn't need to have his added on to them.
Letting his eyes wander around the market as he took in the mostly elven population milling about their morning business he had to say there was a nice kind of warmth to it all. Even if they could afford less, people were less cold and stuck up then the ones in the high town. It was times like this that struck him that perhaps there was a bright side to losing everything.
However before he could really spend any time on thinking about it, a living windmill would catch his eye, causing him to turn his head towards a particularly busy section. Catching a familiar flash of purple as Sarylin went towards the ground Jae would stop walking just in time to watch her palms slap against the road way before she tried to recover herself from her fall. His eyes would grow slightly wide as he watched her bring her feet up over her head and arching her back. The amazing sight held him spellbound as he waited to see what she was going to accomplish. However that would be broken when she didn't fully recover herself and fell onto her rear end. Blinking he would shake his head, just surprised at how talented she seemed even if she hadn't fully succeeded.
"Be right back," Jae would tell Nayiah as soon as he saw the way that Sarylin's face turned as red as a roses petals, and seemed to be too mortified to move from where she had fallen. Walking over, he would push pass some of the people that were standing around and just watching the girl, annoyance crossing his expression as he glanced to them. How could they just stand there and not offer a hand to her? Perhaps he'd been wrong about less cruel the commoners could be...
As he reached Sarylin he would make sure to wipe the annoyance from his face as he would give her a soft smile and crouched down slightly as he extended his hand to her. His brilliantly colored eyes would go to meet her teal ones if she lifted them to him. "That, I would have to say was amazing. Catching yourself and then bending your back like that? I know I would have just fallen flat on my face and really I'd rather have not that cushion my fall," Jae spoke conversationally to her, even as he held a small tone of admiration for her reflexes and flexibility, chuckling as he spoke about landing on his face. "May I help you up?" He asked her, speaking as if she would be doing him the favor if she were to allow him to help her up to her feet again.

~Blinking in surprise, Nayiah listened to Jae's words. Nodding in agreement, Nayiah understood what he meant. She didn't like how people took other people's lives. What really bothered her thought was that of higher class figured they could get away with it, and blame the lower class. Making anything up and it wouldn't be questioned. Now that was just pathetic.~
“I think overall killing people is wrong. I think the only way I would even say it would count was in a situation where someone was trying to kill you, and it was either you die or they did. Then I'm sure I would probably defend myself. But it wasn't the case. They killed a commoner and then tried to make it seem like it was that person's fault. That they were the bad one. No one questioned it. It was horrible.”
~Nayiah would respond. She agreed with Jaelyn. Killing was wrong. Her face held disgust. When Jae apologized to her, confusion showed on her face. Waving it off as she told him it wasn't his fault. She tried to give him a gentle smile to reassure him she meant it. She didn't find him at fault. Studying him with her oak brown eyes, she pondered on whether she should say something. Finally deciding she would look at him.~
“I'm sorry how I acted when I first met you, I was so afraid after all I went through. I admit it was wrong, but I was afraid of all nobles. I know that wasn't right either.”
~Nayiah would apologize to Jae over that small detail. Seeing the smile she would receive, Nayiah returned one with her own. Ears twitching as she listened to Jae's words. She nodded her head in agreement.~
“I agree with that. Please know my problems and all. That I intend on returning the favor sometime. If you ever need someone to talk to, Jae. I'd be willing to listen.”
~Nayiah said her voice filled with warmth and gentleness. Her words held a truthful meaning. If Nayiah had known Jae had problems of his own. She would've encouraged him to talk about it, whenever he was ready to that is. Even though Nayiah was easily scared, by running from witnessing a murder. She wasn't the overly skittish kind of woman. It wasn't even until witnessing a murder that she seemed so afraid. Nayiah always thought of herself as loyal if she had any friends. But technically Nayiah had remain in the same place long enough to make any.
Nayiah glanced in the opposite direction when her ears furrowed back hearing Jae speaking. After promising she would wait for Jae where she stood. If she had known it was Sarylin who had fallen, Nayiah would've followed behind concerned. Waiting for Jae to return to where she stood. Wondering what happened, Nayiah pondered about following Jae. Wondering what happened.~

Thousands upon thousands of words rattled through her mind trying to make up some sort of excuse to her failure in her recovery to the people around her. Yet nothing came out of her mouth.
Keeping her eyes downwards, her lips were pressed in a grim line while she listened to the few comments about her. But the moment her ears caught the familiarity of a strong voice of a male, her eyes flung upwards latching onto those of unholy teal.
Her cheeks grew hotter at the sight. Having fallen in front of others she didn’t know was embarrassing but having something she had the pleasure of conversing with once already brought about a whole new level of humiliation. She wanted to laugh at his clever comment about if it had been him, of him falling to his face but she couldn’t. Though sensitive, ears caught the admiration in his voice.
The strong hand fell towards her as she gingerly slipped her own within his. When he would heave her upwards, she with drew her hand to rub it along her bicep, “Thank you Jaelyn.” she spoke warmly lost with herself how to go about speaking.
Letting her eyes pick over the scenery of people and buildings around them, she let out a long sigh through her nose before turning to look at Jaelyn again. “I suppose this is good timing, it makes it far easier to bid you farewell.” Her voice took on a more giddy sound of pleasure, “I felt a little silly for leaving this morning and not being able to wish you and Nayiah safe travels, but at least now I can personally-” Her eyes turned wide for a brief fleeting moment, as she peered around the tall exiled nobleman. “Where is Nayiah, may I ask?”
Sarylin stopped as she took in the slightly less glamorous appearance of Jaelyn, her lips curving into a private smile. “If you don’t mind me saying Jaelyn, the third class look doesn’t suit you. You look like you are trying to pretend like a child playing dress up.” She giggled, “But that just might be me thinking that. I hope I didn’t offend you. It isn’t like I am any better.” Sarylin wanted to get the subject off of her mishap, “I am the rag a muffin playing noble, I think we need to step out of the make believe closet, don’t you not think so?”
Though she would wait for that when she returned home, to her own little squat room and go back to her own well worn clothing.

As she placed her hand into his, he couldn't help but marvel at the soft yet firm feeling of hers. While not as soft as those in nobility of course since she was much more used to working, how soft her warm skin was surprised him. Banishing those thoughts however as she would thank him he would bring up his shoulders in a casual shrug, although he would hold still that soft smile for her, "It's no problem. I couldn't let you keep all the attention on yourself now could I?" Jaelyn chuckled as he joked good naturedly.
His eyes turning back to her as she sighed through her nose, he lifted an eyebrow questioningly at her. Hearing her telling him that she would be bidding him farewell, he couldn't help the little stab of disappointment, but he would keep it hidden as he nodded his head slightly to her. "Oh, she should be nearby," Jae would take his eyes off of Sarylin for a moment as he turned slightly and looked over to where he had been when he spotted Sarylin. Finding the pair of soft brown cat ears he would smile a little and waved Nayiah over. "There she is." He indicated to the cat girl with a nod of his head.
Again his eyes slid back to her as he heard Sarylin, although this time he would laugh softly as he looked down to himself at his words. Lifting his hands and tugging lightly on the lapels of his grey long coat he would give Sarylin a bright smile, "Well I happened to think that I look quite dapper." Jaelyn would retort to her words about the third class look not suiting him, a slight twist to his smile to show that he was teasing. Although as she said she was a rag a muffin playing noble he would take a half step back as he let his eyes run over her lithe form as he gave a bit of a shake of his head. "I don't know, with the right clothing someone could mistake you for a princess I think." Jae would tell her with a slight smirk to his lips, it'd be hard to tell exactly how serious he was.

~Nayiah's attention was elsewhere as she spotted some lovely flowers. Various colors, and it wasn't that she was into gardening. Because she wasn't talented with that. Nayiah just appreciated the rich vibrant colors. A gentle smile formed on her face as she admired them. Though Nayiah had walked over to admire the flowers, she was still nearby where Jae had left her. Turning her head to glance in the direction where Jae had left her, green hair flowed lightly around her momentary. Oak brown eyes stared, as a smile appeared on her face at being waved over. Nodding her head, Nayiah walked towards where Jae and Sarylin were. A gentle smile greeted Sarylin, as Nayiah smiled at the woman she had thought she had managed to befriend.~
“Sarylin!”
~Nayiah said happily to see her friend. Nayiah had hoped Sarylin hadn't too much trouble delivering the letter. Though she assumed she had managed to anyways. She was glad to see Sarylin again.~

Upon hearing Jaelyn announce that Nayiah was still around, a small smile crept over her face. At least the two of them were making friends, it seemed them both needed it.
Eyes were bright with the jovial life as she gave Nayiah a hearty greeting in return as she glanced briefly upwards to the tall man that had been her hero moments ago. Though when he spoke about being rather nifty in his clothing, she let out the tepid laughter push past her lips. The twist of the smile on his face told her that he was teasing but with the next couple of words out of his mouth and how he took her in with the studying glance, Sarylin wasn’t sure if he had been joking or not.
Picking up the tabard that hung around her, Sarylin narrowed an eye. “This is as fancy as I go, there will be no way in the nine hells I would ever want to dress myself anymore than this.” She shrugged her shoulders, “Plus who wants to be a princess anyways, they have to be all prissy and stuck up. Not my cup of tea, ill take being a hobo over that any day.” The corners of her mouth worked upwards, making a light grin grace her face.
Letting her attention fall back to that of Nayiah, she combed back her own bangs. “I am glad to see you both up and about,” Sarylin spoke casually, not fearing anything from Jaelyn anymore. “Makes my spirit lighten when I can actually say to you both to have safe travels.” She tapped a hand briefly to the empty slot that used to hold the letter. “My mission has been completed, so this girl is going home to the lands of glittering white snow and festive colours of my kingdom.”
She made a brief gesture to signify the custom salute of fair travels. Her head bowed slightly, as she clapped a closed fist over her chest with the other hand held out in front, “I hope you both fair well, stay warm and have the spirits of the road watch over you.” She smiled, “I bid you both farewell.”
Sarylin turned herself around, hair skirting along as she let her eyes fall upon the large gates of the castle grounds. She said her graces, her mind was clear and now she just needed to go home.
Home.

"Ah, there you are Nayiah!" Jae grinned widely as he would smile to the cat eared when she came over to where the two of them were standing, talking. He couldn't say why but since meeting Sarylin and then Nayiah he was feeling a little cheerier. At least around them he was. Bright eyes moved from one to the other as he took a quick moment to consider them both. They at least were nice people...
Having Sarylin laugh to his comment about how he looked in his clothing Jae would smile brighter, enjoying the sound of her sweet laughter. Again, being around the two of them was making him start to feel a little better about his exile as their sincerity was certainly nice compared to the fake mannerisms of the nobility. Although as she would mention that she'd rather being a hobo over a princess any day, Jaelyn couldn't help but laugh. Yes, being around the two of them was refreshing.
"Well you'd certainly make an attractive princess," Jae would say, a silly smile twisting his lips as he watched her. "However you're right, you are much too honest to be one." Half teasing on that comment he grinned and nodded. The fact she was honest was something that he liked in her personality and that would be why he only would say it half teasingly. He thought it was a good thing.
"Thank you Sarylin," Jaelyn would thank her for her wish for safe travels, nodding to her although his smile would have faded slightly. It was a shame that they would be parting ways so soon, but he wouldn't try to convince her to stay as he could understand the wish to return home... Still smiling at least softly he would return the gesture to her, "It has been my pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Watching as she turned and started to walk towards the gate, he would gesture to Nayiah to follow as he would quicken his stride to catch up to her. "If you're not too tired of our company, may we escort you to the gate at least?" He asked her as he grinned playfully to her, hoping she would say yes.
It would be as they were nearing the gate that Jaelyn was a little surprised to note nobility entering in through the lower city gates, lifting his eyebrow in wonder. The man that rode in was obviously born noble and very proud of that fact, causing Jae to wonder who he was and why he would lower himself to go into the lower class district.

~A smile blossomed on Nayiah's face as she received a greeting back from Sarylin. It brought so much joy to know that Sarylin was so happy to see her again. Oak brown eyes gazed at Jae, as she smiled at him too. Warmth spread throughout her body, knowing that someone was happy to see her again. That they both were. Nayiah was thankful that she had a chance to meet both of them. Even though it was only a short time, she thought she had truly found two great people. That she could consider her friends. Jaelyn was so kind and nice, so was Sarylin. They already held a special place in her heart. Nayiah doubted she could ever forget either of them.
Brown ears furrowed, listening to Sarylin. Though the words Sarylin said only seemed to bring reality to those very words. Disappointment showed as clear as day on Nayiah's expression. Truly she was sad to hear Sarylin was leaving their group. Nayiah shook her head sadly, what did she expect? Sarylin to stay with them forever? Nayiah tried to reason with herself, knowing that was selfish to even hope for Sarylin to stay. Nayiah tried to hide the disappointment as she smiled. Touched that Sarylin thought enough to wish both of them well on their travels, as well as safe journeys.~
“Thank you, Sarylin. I wish you safest journey home as well, Sarylin. I will miss you. I'll never forget your kindness.”
~Nayiah said speaking the truth. Nayiah smiled thankful that Sarylin was able to complete her mission. A single tear would fall down Nayiah's cheek. Watching Sarylin turning to walk away from them was the hardest thing to see. But sadly it had to be done. Nayiah envied Sarylin that she had a home to go to. Enjoying seeing Jae seem to happy, made Nayiah happy too. He really deserved being happy. So did Sarylin. Nayiah honestly wished they both would continue to live their lives happy and content. Seeing them teasing one another only made Nayiah softly giggle. Nodding in agreement to Jae's words she stared at Sarylin.~
“I'm honoured I got to meet you, Sarylin.”
~Nayiah said with a smile pressed to her lips. Nodding to Jae as he gestured to her. Nayiah followed him instantly as they tried to catch up to Sarylin. If Sarylin was leaving, Nayiah agreed with Jaelyn. She wanted to see her friend off. A warm smile pressed on Nayiah's face. As if they were throwing her a farewell party even though it was merely watching her by the gate leave them. Hoping that Sarylin would accept Jae's request to allow them to escort her to the gate. By the time they neared the gate, Nayiah hadn't noticed it as quick as Jaelyn had. But as soon as she did, her ears furrowed backwards and a whimpered distressed gasp escaped her throat. Sheer panic rising in her voice. It was almost as if time stood still, even briefly. Forgetting to even remember to breath.
Not giving the nobleman a chance to spot her. Nayiah turned the opposite direction and ran as fast as she could. Her heart felt like it would leap right out of her chest. A loud voice would call out after her. And suddenly she was being chased as the nobleman ordered his men to capture Nayiah. Though sadly there was no way Nayiah could outrun a horse. It wouldn't even take long to catch her. Aiming his weapon as if he was about to strike Nayiah down in front of everyone who witnessed it. The nobleman didn't seem to care, because she was below him.~
“Die!”
~The nobleman would snarl. Nayiah let out a whimpered cry. The weapon went down fast and Nayiah was struck down. Like a axe cutting down a tree. It didn't take much to strike her down. Grasping her arm blood poured down her arm. Falling to her knee's as if to plead for her life. Nayiah was too frightened to notice what would happen next. Oak brown eyes widened in fright as she stared at the man who had been chasing her for so long. Disbelief that she had been found.~

She laughed lightly at Nayiah and how she seemed to be rather disappointed in her leaving. It only left her wondering if she had made some sort of impact on the girl.
Though after all the words and taking her leave, her ears caught the soft grace of Jaelyn offering for them to escort her to the gate. “Oh royal treatment,” she teased with a press of her hand to her own chest, “Why thy good Sir and lovely lady, I would be honoured to have ye take thy down to the gates.” Her accent really destroyed the old tongue, but she laughed anyways.
Hold hinges creaked and squealed with the protest of having the gates opening, allowing others to enter into the lower sanctum of the castle, making her attention shift to see the very palpable noble come striding in as if he was walking on air. Her nose wrinkled with disgust at the man, everything about him said he was a foul man to the core. She didn’t need to be a fore to see that, it was as clear as the nose on her face. She felt bad for the horse, surely no beast of burden should have to carry around a man and an ego the size of the kingdom itself.
Feet pattered away from her in a frantic flee, as she watched the eyes of the man turn to peer through her assorted little group. Pressing the spurs on his boots into the belly of the horse, the vicious cry lurched out of the pale tight lips making her yelp as the horse and rider charged blindly through them, making her body whirl around a few times before she got her barrings.
Realizing after her head stopped spinning who the man charged after, Sarylin felt the vomit clutch in her throat. The spray of the blood hit the man square in the chest as the horse reared back at the smell. “Nayiah!” from where she was standing she couldn’t see how gravely injured the neko was, but with that much of a onslaught of blood, she knew it was bad.
Tearing the heavy tabard from her body, Sarylin shoved her way through the startled on lookers as she lurched her body close to the ground, only to press her knees tight upwards into a lunging jump. Kicking the heels from her feet through the momentum of the spiral forward flip, her toes felt the warm rump of the horse as she felt the hot anger rushing through her heart.
Curling two fingers each on her hands, Sarylin’s gaze was clouded by tears for the neko, not certain she was still alive as her attention was firm on the back of the nobles head. She hadn’t even thought about Jaelyn, but she was certain he would hold his own.
Using the knuckles of her middle and index finger, she jabbed hard into the shoulder blades of the man, before letting a few more shots unleash into soft muscle of the noble. She knew it wasn’t enough to hurt him, but it was certainly more than enough to make the heavy sword fall from his hand. Steel clattered to the stone behind them startling the horse yet again, only proving her lack of balance on a moving creature. Letting out a cry of anguish, she slid backwards hitting the ground with a sicking crunch as she glared painfully up to the nobleman. She didn’t even pay attention to the others that would have been accompanying him.
Having his arms numbed fully, the fool fell from the horse as well making a gleefully sinful smile spread over her face. The horse charged blindly through the crowd as she felt the calloused hands of men wrap around her biceps. His entourage.
Forcing her to stand up fully, Sarylin cursed foully at the man as she searched pleadingly for Nayiah. Commoners began to flee in fits of screams and fear making her begin to kick wildly in the hands. She realized her mistake then. The man that had attacked Nayiah had regained the feeling in his right arm, the arm that would hold the sword to deliver another blow. She hadn’t struck the right spot in his body.
“Nayiah!” she hollered in hopes that the neko had survived and was about to start running. Tears streamed over her dirty cheeks as she gritted her teeth. She prayed that Jaelyn was alright as well, though she wasn’t sure what was about to happen.

Even though he was saying goodbye to someone he would have liked to know better and to truly befriend, he was still happy for having met her. The fact that she had managed to get him joking was an accomplisment in itself, helping him forget his troubles for the short time. So as she would laughingly allow them to escort her to the gate he would have smiled brightly, his striking aqua eyes glittering with mirth. "After you my lady," Jae had joked, doing a sweeping bow once they got closer to the gate.
The pretentious noble man would be gone from his mind almost as quickly as he had noticed him. However he would notice immediately as the sound of Nayiah's distress sounded next to his ear, causing him to whip around to look to her with concern, but she was already fleeing as quickly as she could. Before he could even call out to her the horse thundered by him, his hair fluttering about him. "Nayiah!" Jae called out as the noble man ran down the neko, panic clutching around his heart as he saw the flash of the blade as it fell down to strike her. Although the spray of her blood would mostly go unnoticed visually, the scent of her tangy blood made it through the crowd to his nostrils. Normally able to ignore his heightened senses, the blood stood out, and combined with his anger at seeing the girl struck down by the type of person he despised a lot, he couldn't stop what started.
His heart thudded hard in his chest, drowning out the screams and cries of the people around this event as he fell to his knees on the cobbled stone. The pain of his knees cracking against the ground however was nothing compared to the pain that surged through him as he wrapped his arms about his mid, curling up slightly. The hair over his body seemed to grow thicker over the short time, his body swelling and changing as he cried out in pain.
Lifting up his head with effort, he peered through blurry vision and the curtain of his hair draped over his face to try and catch sight of Nayiah. But instead of Nayiah, he'd be treated to the sight of Sarylin falling from the horse and the noble's entourage manhandling her. And nearby he could see the noble himself reaching down to pick up his sword, and Jae knew what was going to happen.
"Sarylin!" Crying out her name in half his voice and half a beastial growl, he knew he couldn't let what was about to happen, happen or else she might die. And neither girl deserved the treatment they were receiving, it didn't matter if the man was a noble!
As his transformation into half beast, half man finished, Jae was overcome with his anger and bloodlust, the beast in him making him lift himself up before lifting his head into the air and let out a long howl. Which at least served to make the noble and his entourage turn their attention to him, fear etching across their faces as they saw the creature that was charging them.
Having fallen to all fours he loped towards them with incredible speed and of course they weren't about to just stand there and wait for him to come tear them apart, they would drop Sarylin as they took off running. Now it was time for the noble to be the one who was being hunted... that thought alone giving him dark delight in his half beast mind. Some of the nobles entourage would be the first to fall as he fell upon one man, making quick work of him by rending his razor sharp claws through chest, leaving him to bleed out as he leapt to the next one. Jae's deadly teeth would close down around the man's arm before tearing it from his body, blood spraying from the wound. With him down, werewolf Jaelyn continued on for the noble who was still running.
With his speed, the noble still wouldn't get far even with a headstart as he came down upon, pinning him to the ground on his stomach as Jaelyn's claws tore through his skin and muscle before baring his teeth in a bone chilling growl, tearing into his back. He'd take a little longer on ripping the noble apart then the others. Once he was done with him, he would turn around and began to head back to the two girls, moving slower as he was walking, not running towards them.

~Nayiah smiled at Sarylin. If she had known that Sarylin wondered what impact she had left on her, Nayiah would've gladly told her how much Sarylin meant to her. Nayiah giggled at Sarylin once she answered Jae's question. Finding how they joked together amusing. Laughing along with them, Nayiah was happy and content with their time together.
Pitying the nobleman's horse was far from Nayiah's mind, when she realized who he was. Instead fear made her want to run for her very own life. She hadn't meant to abandon Jae or Sarylin there. But the nobleman wasn't after either of them. As Nayiah ran with panic racing in her heart. She hadn't been sure if her heart was going to fly right out of her chest. Her breath caught in her throat as she ran for it. She was too busy trying to live, that all she would do to respond to her name being cried out was her ears twitching in response as she continued running. Though as soon as she had been struck.
Clutching her upper arm where she had been sliced by the nobleman's sword. Her eyes widened feeling the pain, the blood loss. Feeling dizzy and ill to her stomach. It was hard to tell if she was going to vomit or faint on the spot. Due to blood making her weak. Nayiah always had an issue with blood. It severly bothered her. She was lucky enough to move out of the way though slowly and barely. Leaning against the wall she was out of harms way for now.
If Nayiah had known what had happened next, that her new friends would try to defend her. Nayiah would've been touched. She barely saw anything as she fought to stay focused. Surprise showing on her face when the nobleman hadn't killed her yet assuming something had distracted him. Glancing weakly to the side, Nayiah witnessed Sarylin being held by the men who served the nobleman.~
“Sarylin...”
~Nayiah said groaning in pain. Her words were too quiet. Sadly Nayiah was unable to run and as soon as the horse escaped. Nayiah would be visible in sight. Watching Jaelyn only briefly her eyes widened in shock and surprise. Watching Jae transform into a werewolf would be the last thing Nayiah saw before her eyes closed. To those who noticed her, it looked like Nayiah had fainted. But she rested. Even though she was still in movements.~

Feeling the tight calloused hands release their sweaty holds, she fell to her knees shouting out a curse like no other.
Though the over powering smell of blood and intestines forced her hands to clamp over her nose and mouth, the dry gags making her eyes water. She had heard the strange sound of her name against the bestial groan but her attention was locked hard on the massive looming beast that was destroying the nobles left right and center.
She had missed the change in Jaelyn so in truth, she had no idea the lumbering wolf was him. But she did see the neko woman from her peripheral fall limping. Taking in the deep breath of the putrid air, she skittered on her hands and knees towards her.
Blood soaked up into her leathers as she felt the disgusting feel of the slick blood on her palms. She knew it would have been stupid to pick Nayiah up, but she couldn’t force herself to stop. She wasn’t sure if she was awake or not, but that still didn’t stop her.
Looking over the gruesome sight of the exposed muscle of Nayiah’s arm, Sarylin cradled the girl loosely in her arms. Fear and shock ripped through her utterly lost what to do. She didn’t understand what had happened, but it was clear the neko needed help. Where was Jaelyn?
Padded feet echoed along the stone street, making her wild eyes turn to look over the hulking spectacular frightening beast. She had heard of werewolves before, but she thought them only to be legend. Apparently the gods were opening her eyes.
It moved slowly, as she pinned her ears low. The blood and gore of the men matted in the fur. Gripping her hand around Nayiah’s cheek, a bloody hand print was on her face. “Nayiah,” her voice was soft as she was unsure what to do. Lifting her eyes to the wolf, Sarylin was terrified, but she didn’t want to abandon Nayiah. Squaring her shoulders, Sarylin waved her hand to the werewolf. “Get out of here! Do you want the guards to kill you?” she hoped the wolf would flee with that out there. Hopefully it was smarter than most animals. “Please… I don’t want any one else to get harmed, humanoid or beast.”

The werewolf approached them slowly, lowering from his lumbering two footed 7 ft stance to all fours as he got closer. Padding gently on all fours he came closer like he was doing nothing more then going up to someone that he knew, tail wagging slightly. And now that he was on all fours his head would be much lower and easier to see his eyes. Although they were shaped like a wolf's eyes, the color would be very familiar if Sarylin were to look to them. The same strikingly bright aquamarine as Jaelyn's.
Lowering his muzzle he would sniff at them, tilting his head while considering the two, once appearing pretty much dead and the other obviously alive. However as Sarylin waved her hand at him and told her to get out of there, his tail and ears would lower as a soft whine bubbled from his throat. Apparently being too concerned to want to leave, but the part of him that was fully Jae, in the back of the beast's mind would agree with her. It was dangerous to stay, and he could do no more to help his friends. Emotion and reason conflicting, the beast would look indecisive before nodding his head to Sarylin in understanding before turning and began to move away. Stopping a few feet away he turned his head back to them, but only for a moment before turning forward and starting forward again.
The wolf with ebony black fur loped off away from the two of them, disappearing out through the gate that had been left open in the chaos of people fleeing to escape the bloody scene. Moving into the forest, Jaelyn wouldn't get far in before the adrenaline of the situation began to wear off. Full from gorging on nobles, he would curl up within a bunch of bushes and fell asleep. And as the great beast fell into slumber, his form began to change until eventually Jaelyn was himself yet again, curled up on the ground and sleeping soundly for the time being.

~Nayiah hadn't a chance to see what was happening behind her as she limped weakly towards safety. Eyes closed. Her ears moved slightly when Sarylin cradled Nayiah. She felt her friend's presence. Ears twitching as Nayiah listened for any sound. Hearing her name spoken, her eyes slowly opened. Nayiah's oak brown eyes weakly gazed at the sight before her. Her uninjured arm outstretched as Nayiah tried to reach out to Jae.~
“Jae. Are you alright?”
~Nayiah said to the werewolf, as she looked at him weakly. Leaning into Sarylin. Nayiah's ears furrowed hearing the fear in Sarylin's voice. Sadness showed in Nayiah's eyes hearing Jae being told to leave. Though Nayiah held the tears back. The very idea of the guards coming to kill Jae, made fear grip her very soul. Nayiah didn't want to see Jae harmed or killed. That would be too much to bare. Watching the werewolf lowering himself, Nayiah cried silently looking at him.~
“Find us when it's safe Jae. I don't care that your a werewolf. Your my friend. I don't want to see you harmed...especially because of me.”
~Nayiah said, her voice pleaded to him. Pain filled her heart watching Jae leave them, even though he glanced back at them. She gave him a weak smile. Though she closed her eyes briefly and when she opened them again would have been when he was gone. Nayiah glanced at Sarylin as she looked at her friend. Feeling bad for being the cause of her friends concern and worries. Nayiah was thankful someone cared enough for her welfare. Knowing it wasn't just Sarylin who cared. Jaelyn did too. She never had this before. People caring and trying to look out for her. Her ears moved hearing the guards coming and she was certainly thankful they wouldn't be able to harm Jae. She was relieved to know the man who killed her was dead. She had briefly noticed his dead body on the ground.~

Watching the wolf with ill ease, Sarylin clicked her tongue at the delirious mutters of Nayiah. Thinking the werewolf was Jaelyn was absurd, but she didn’t correct it. Though how wrong she would be.
When the wolf left, would be the perfect timing. Men streaming in all around them as she frantically looked up to the scene of armour and weapons. Her voice cracked within her body as fearful tears threatened to spill over.
It took a lot of convincing, but she managed to get a couple of the guards to escort her to the healers, while they gingerly brought Nayiah on a stretcher. Time was a large factor, as she now sat within the warm waiting room for the neko woman.
She held her hands tight against her leather worked pants, bunching them as she was unsure to what happened to Jaelyn. She thought he might have been swept away with the crowd in the frantic fleeing, as the idea that the vivid eyes of the werewolf were and should have been obvious to her. Her concern was Nayiah, so the clearest things went completely unnoticed.
Sighing heavily, her belly grumbled in protest to lack of food but again she refused to leave just yet. If anything she hoped that Jaelyn would return, though if she had known about him having been the werewolf that snacked upon the noble flesh, Sarylin would have been deathly fearful. She had no rhyme or reason to understand the werewolf aspect nor; not to fear it. It was a unusual occurrence for her to see and she knew that it was something that was out of her understanding.
Purple hair cascaded down her face, brushing her cheeks tentatively as she chewed nervously on her bottom lip. How on earth did the greatest day of her life go from that, to one of hell and fear? She fretted for Nayiah and prayed ardently for Jaelyn.

A short while later Jaelyn would wake up groggily, at first incredibly confused on how he had ended up in the forest amongst bushes. The last thing that he remembered was walking with Sarylin and Nayiah towards the gate... Getting up, as he fully took in where he was, he realized that he was most definitely in the forest. And when he woke up in the forest with a sketchy memory it usually meant one of two things... He'd gone on a drinking bender, which he hadn't done since his early twenties or he'd shifted into his werewolf form... Fear clutched at him then as that realization and everything made him worry that he had somehow harmed the two people that had been so kind to him. And looking down at himself to see the blood over him, he knew he had hurt someone... So sickened by the fact of what he may or may not have done, Jaelyn couldn't keep his stomach still as he would vomit into the bushes, coughing and hacking until there was nothing left to be emptied.
Wiping hi arm across his mouth, he wandered from out of the brush, thankful that he could hear a stream nearby when he stopped to listen, the faint sound of the running water reaching his ears. Going and finding it, he'd use the water to start cleaning himself, splashing the water over his hands and face before cleaning off his clothing the best he could. For what he couldn't do he'd close his coat up over his shirt with a heavy sigh.
If he hurt either of them, Jaelyn knew that he would feel terrible, utterly horrible even. But he had to find out exactly what happened. Even though most of his memories would probably come back to him in his sleep, it could be hard sometimes to tell the difference between dream and reality so the best that he could do was go back into the castle town and find out. Combing his hair back from his slightly paler then usual face, he'd scoop up some water to sip at first until he got rid of the horrendous tast out of his mouth. Once feeling a little better he would rise to his feet and begin to walk back towards the city.
About half an hour later Jaelyn reached the city gates moving cautiously up to them because if he'd gotten out to the forest in his wolf form it was possible that he'd been shifted when he passed through the gates. And if anyone had seen him change... Shaking his head he let out a heavy sigh. Maybe it would be better if someone had seen him and identified him, that way, he couldn't hurt anyone again... If he hurt the girls, he would turn himself in, he decided. It was suicide, but it would also serve justice...
As he peered in the gates he saw people still cleaning up the bloody mess, holding his lips tightly together as he cautiously crept past people, walking with his hands shoved in his pockets and slumping down so the profile of his face couldn't be seen as his black hair hun in curtains around his face. And as soon as he was in the city again, he would begin to use the back alleys as he slinked down one then another moving towards the Inn. First he would find out who got hurt and what had happened, then he'd either gather up what he could carry of his things and leave, or turn himself in to the guards.
Trying to slip in the front door of the Inn as quietly as he could once he got there, he would breath a sigh of relief as he didn't see Elzy at first. So still moving quietly, he went towards the stairs, until a very familiar voice reached his ears.
"Jaelyn!" Elzy's voice exclaimed, making him freeze, his ears lowering slightly as he turned around and gave her a guilty look. "What are you doing here? Why aren't you with your friends?" Almost sighing in relief it seemed he either hadn't been identified, or it hadn't reached Elzy yet. He doubted it was the latter option with how gossipy the woman was.
"I... I got lost in the panic," Jaelyn hated lying to her, it felt like lying to one's grandmother but he had to, "I didn't see exactly what happened. Why, where are they?" Concern immediately shot through him as he questioned her, his eyes widening. Elzy would give him a sad look, as if about to tell him terrible news, and his stomach dropped, nausea going through him.
"Oh Jaelyn," Elzy spoke sadly, letting silence hang in the air a moment as she held her hands in front of her in her apron. Jae almost lost his patience with her then, wanting to shake her and yell at her to tell him, but with tremendous effort he held on, waiting for her to speak again. "I don't know exactly what happened. No one seems to for sure. But what I've heard is when that monster attacked he killed several nobles, and your neko friend was cut really badly. Apparently she's at the healing center though nobody knows her condition right now and the other girl that was here with you is waiting there for her too. I thought you would be there actually," Elzy would finally finish, letting a great weight off of his chest. It wasn't great to hear that he had definitely killed people, but Sarylin sounded alright at least... But he'd not forgive himself if Nayiah died.
"Thanks Elzy!" He would tell her as he would nod to her and ran past, going out the door to start running down the pathway and down into the main part of the lower city, heading towards the healing center. She called out something soft behind him, but he paid it no mind as he would run as quickly as he could without attracting undue attention.
When he finally reached the healing center he would throw open the door into the waiting room, breathing heavily as he looked around frantically for anyone he recognized. And thankfully, he'd spot Sarylin as she sat there looking worried as she picked at her clothing.
"Sarylin!" Exclaiming his name he would move over to his side quickly as he swept her up into his arms and hugged her tightly to himself, just clinging. "Thank god, your ok!" Jae sighed heavily when he'd loosen his arms about her so she could escape if she wanted from his hold. "Where's Nayiah? How is she?" He asked as he looked down to her freckled face, concern etched across his brow, brilliant eyes clouded with worry.

Jumping in fright from the loud bang of the door hitting the wall, Sarylin felt the embrace wrap around her making her flail her arms wildly. It was unusual at best that he would just go about grabbing her, but she didn’t get a moment to register it was him until she was in his grasp. Letting out a muffled cry, Sarylin fled from his arms the moment he let them loosen.
Panting slightly from the sudden rush of him and the startling fear she had from the door slamming open, Sarylin raked back her hair. Swallowing hard, verdigris teal eyes took him in like a cold glass of water.
“I am just fine Jaelyn.” She muttered as she shifted her body to sit back down in the cushioned chairs, her hands folding to rest within her lap. “I am glad to see you are alright as well, did you get lost in the shuffle?” she enquired still not believing in the prior words of Nayiah calling the beast his name.
Her clothing was coated in dried blood of Nayiah, her ears twitching slightly with the question of how the health of the neko woman was. She could see how terribly worried he was, but she couldn’t answer him fully. Giving a deep shrug Sarylin turned her face from him. “I haven’t heard anything.” Her voice was slight with reserve. Not giving up entire hope yet about the neko but that didn’t mean she could be unrealistic. She had seen the wound before the guards took Nayiah into their care, it was awful. How the muscle had been rend open in a gory mess it made her weak in the knees thinking about it still. Blood didn’t usually bother her, but enough and she was certain anyone would be disgusted by it.
When the neko had been rushed into the healers den her sensitive ears heard the old crone of a healer muttering about how close to the main artery the gash had been. She didn’t need to be a healer to know the dire situation. Nayiah had to be strong and pull through this on her own.
Squeezing her eyes shut, she began to grit her teeth. “Why did that bastard attack her?” she uttered the words still utterly unaware of the nobility that had been chasing Nayiah. “It was so brutal. He charged his horse full bore after her and didn’t even think twice about letting his sword hack down. She is a living being, how can anyone take a life.” She began to rant, “I hate violence, I hate bloodshed and yet that is all everyone does. Kill kill kill!” eyes opened –glossy – to Jaelyn. “And yet… that werewolf…” her voice petered out for a moment eyes set to study him carefully.
“I have never believed in folk lore of ancient beasts, though you think I should.” Cracking with the pain of the situation, a cynical muffled laugh stemmed past her lips. “My father – or should I say the man I consider my father- was a minator. Something that was proclaimed to be a monster of a labyrinth, I should have believed his stories of beasts of the moon. But today, I believe it.” Wiping a palm of her hand against her eye, she smiled weakly. “Though I won’t deny it, I was afraid. Actually I still am. Seeing something that large is terrifying. I feel ill regret for the men it devoured, their blood spilt along the cobblestones as the monster seemed completely unaware of its actions. And yet…” Sarylin looked to Jaelyn, “And yet it approached me and Nayiah. I may not know anything about werewolves or wolves in general but it was careful. Slow, almost thoughtful.” Another cynical laugh came from her, “Nayiah was so delirious from the blood loss that she called the beast your name.” she smiled at him. “I felt bad for her, but I didn’t correct her. Isn’t that utterly insane? She must have been worried for you and thought she could see you instead of the wolf.”
Letting out a long drawn sigh, Sarylin dropped her head to hide her face behind her hair. “It didn’t growl or snap at us. Almost as if we weren’t a threat, which I am grateful for – but I hope it got away. Not meaning I’d want it to come back.” she rubbed a hand against her forearm. “It scared me to my bones. I… I hope its safe but I don’t like to be that afraid. My father always told me, we fear the things we don’t understand. Now I see what he means, I don’t understand the unnatural so therefore I am afraid of the beast. If I could have ran with the others, I would have.” She spoke truthfully to the tall elf, unaware of what she was saying was in direct correlation to him. She lifted up her necklace so Jaelyn could see. “If the beast attacked me and Nayiah I as ready to through this at it. I may not know the werewolf status, but I know about as much as anyone else. My chain is silver, I mean I wouldn’t want to hurt it but if it came between me and it- id want to be safe.”
Sarylin stooped her hands again, “Violence. Everything is violence. I tried to stop the nobleman, but I didn’t. If I had just hit him in the right spot, perhaps not everyone would be dead. Perhaps the beast wouldn’t have-” she stopped in mid sentence lifting her face to Jaelyn. “Wait… how on earth was there was a werewolf in the first place? The entire place as chaos from everyone running but… but doesn’t that mean someone is cursed with lycanthropy?” she questioned him. “I didn’t see anyone change, I was too busy trying to squirm out to the hands of the nobles men; but that means someone in town is a werewolf.” Her mouth skewed, “Whom ever it is, it going to be in dire trouble. The guards are putting out a reward for anyone who can identify the person and if there is one thing you can count on with the lower class is that. If the crown offers a coin reward, the cursed being is going to be turned in faster than a wet shirt.”
Standing up finally, Sarylin looked over Jaelyn. “Jaelyn would you mind taking over my stead to wait for Nayiah. While I want to stay and see how she is, I think it might be best if I leave now. If there is a monster on the loose, I want to get a move on. I have a lot of ground to cover back home and with the idea of a werewolf out there, I need to move.” She had to go home, she had to get back to the bethel. “I know this must seem utterly heartless of me Jaelyn, but I need to collect my own reward for delivering that message. Many little mouths and hearts depend on me.” She smiled weakly. “Please,” her eyes took him in. “Keep her safe and tell her that I am relieved that she is alright.”
Side stepping around the tall elf, her hand latched onto the knob. Tumblers fell and released with the give of the door allowing her to disappear out of it. Still having no shoes from the prior instant, the ball of her feet padded against the cobblestone in the gentle run. She didn’t have anything other than the blood stained clothing on her back, she had left the tabard in the scuffle of the mess as she dashed frantically out towards the gate.
Many people were dragging the abhorred bodies from the street when she came rushing pass, but no one spoke a word to her.
The gate hung open still, no guards were standing at their posts when she sprinted out of and past the wooden and steel doorway.
She wanted Nayiah to be safe and she wanted Jaelyn to be as well; but she couldn’t forget her own. She took the damn messenger service for them and knowing that there was a monster of lumbering strength and speed now; she felt the panicked need to leave. She didn’t want to see the person hung for being a werewolf, nor did she want to see the wolf again either. Her mind was plagued with so many thoughts of ill tiding as her feet carried her further and further from the castle grounds.
It wouldn’t be until high peak of the sun that she finally collapsed to her knees at the side of the well worn road. Having no pack for survival, she let out a nosily pant from the depths of her chest. Her hair dripped sweat, it clinging to her face as she listened with careful ease to the insect song that lingered in the roadside bushes.
Adjusting herself to sit cross legged, she was thankful she was very used to walking around with no shoes. Her soles were hard from the many years of labour in the orchard outside of the bethel, but still the last eight months of wearing shoes had taken its toll. Dusting her feet, she touched it gingerly before she massaged them herself. Her mind was frantic as any noise around her made her jump. But her main thought was Nayiah. She hoped the girl survived, no she had to survive. She couldn’t toss wishy washy fate out there.
Nayiah was alive.
Calming her breathing to become even, Sarylin figured she was about four, five hours from the castle now. Out of sight, out of mind.
Glancing back from the way she had come, she blinked some. “Be safe.” She muttered again.

~Nayiah knew she wasn't seeing things. Even if Nayiah should have been scared, considering witnessing Jae turn into a werewolf. She honestly wasn't. She had been more afraid of that noble who had spent so long in chasing her. She had been afraid when he had struck her down like a butcher chopped meat without any hesitation. She didn't understand how anyone could try to take a life like that noble had tried. The way Nayiah saw it, Jae was trying to protect her and Sarylin. She feared Jae's safety because of that. Because Nayiah knew how most people reacted. They didn't exactly stop to see the real truth. That noble who had tried to kill her, would always be remembered as the victim. Instead of the one who had done a horrible thing. She was merely a commoner and that meant she wasn't worth anything to protect. At least to those of higher status. Though she was thankful she had two people who wanted her safe.
By the time guards came, and assisted Nayiah into a stretcher, Nayiah's oak brown eyes had fallen closed. Laying still it hurt too much to move. She was worn out from all that had happened. So she had fallen in a sleep. Although to some it looked like she had slipped into unconsciousness. If She had known just how badly she worried both Sarylin and Jae, perhaps Nayiah would have felt extremely guilty over it. By the time she was taken to the healers, Nayiah wasn't awake to have overheard the healer mentioning her opinion of Nayiah's injuries. But as the healers worked on her, her eyes opened and closed. At first Nayiah almost thought she was hallucinating things. Or that she was dreaming perhaps. But reality hit her hard considering the last she remembered. Dreams didn't hurt. Once convincing herself that this was in fact real. Nayiah tried to get her bearings but again fell asleep once the healers had finally finished.
If Nayiah had known that people were waiting at the healers place for her, concerned and worried. Well Nayiah would've probably cried. That would have touched her tremendously. It would be by the time Sarylin had left, when the healers came out into the waiting area. Looking around to tell Sarylin the news to find her not there. Nayiah had pulled through, and before leaving the room she was awake. Already Nayiah had been asking to see two people. Though Nayiah wondered as she laid in the bed bandaged up and healed, if Jae had made it out alright. She knew she hadn't seen things. She was wounded but she knew she wasn't delirious.
Once the healer figured out Sarylin wasn't no where, she would call out Jaelyn's name. Though she didn't know him. It was the other name Nayiah had said. Nayiah rested on the single bed tiredly but she was lucky that it hadn't been worse. She was thankful that Sarylin had been safe. Remembering it all that had happened, had made her fearful to almost loose a good friend. If Jaelyn came into the room where she rested. Nayiah's eyes lit up relieved he was alright and safe.~
“Jaelyn!”
~Nayiah said her voice sounding relieved he was safe. And happy he had come to see her. Worry had filled her eyes as she gently wiped tears from her oak brown eyes with her other hand that hadn't been injured. The healers had cleaned the blood up from her body. Only her clothing had a little bit on it. But that wasn't a concern to Nayiah.~

"Sorry for scaring you," Jaelyn would mutter his apology as he watched her flee from him. Moving to sit beside her in the chairs his hands resting on his legs once he'd eased himself down. A very faint smile appeared on his face to hear that she was glad he was alright, but it disappeared when she would ask if he had been lost in the shuffle, as he nodded to her. He hated lying to her, but he had to. Even if he had decided to tell her the truth he couldn't exactly tell her while they were in the healer's center and surrounded by others.
Jaelyn's ears would lower slightly to hear that Sarylin hadn't heard anything on Nayiah's health. What could it mean? What had he done to their friend? He lowered his eyes down to his hands that lay limply in his lap, sorrow creasing the corner of his eyes as he hung his head. However as she began to speak he would lift his head again, shifting his sad eyes to her. At first thinking she was talking about himself, until she mentioned the horse and the sword. Confusion showed only briefly, but as she continued to speak, the memories began to come back, narrated by her sweet voice.
The pain in her voice would make him wince, feeling horrible for contributing to the situation. For being part of the reason that Sarylin felt pain at all. Although of course she couldn't know since she hadn't seen and didn't believe Nayiah, he hated himself all that much more.
At her question of it being utterly insane that Nayiah had called the werewolf his name, he'd simply give a wane smile. Listening to her description of what the werewolf did, he would be astonished inside as he heard that he had approached them but not to hurt them. And he would hazily remember. He had been worried for them, wanting to see if they were alright. He didn't exactly understand it, but perhaps he had been more himself because the beast had been sated from feasting on the nobles? He figured that must have been it, since from everything he had heard and read, those afflicted with lycantrhopy knew not between friend and foe when changed. Although he was glad to hear from her when she showed him her necklace that she had been ready to defend the two girls. It wouldn't have done much damage seeing as it was only a necklace but it would've hurt a lot, and hopefully enough to deter him. He was glad though, and puzzled that it hadn't come to that.
Jaelyn would nod softly when she questioned him about it meaning that someone was cursed with lycanthropy. She really was a smart woman, his admiration of her going up just that much more. Although hearing her words about the guards putting out a reward for turning in the person who was cursed, his blood would turn cold and he lifted his eyes to her, nodding again silently in agreement. It meant that he had to get out of town... and quickly.
As Sarylin stood, his bright eyes would watch her as she stood up, his ears lowering even more as he heard that she was heading home now. He wanted to tell her that it was safer for her to stay, tell her that if there was a wolf out there that going out on the road she was putting herself in danger but he'd be unable to find his voice for the time being. So all he could do was nod weakly and watch her leave, his heart clenching in his chest. For her sake he hoped she would make quick time home...
A short while later was when the healer would come out and call his name, causing him to look up tiredly before he stood and followed her into the back to see Nayiah laying there on that bed. Giving a quick nod to the healer as she would tell him that he shouldn't take long as Nayiah would need her rest, he promised he'd be quick. Moving over to her bedside, his eyes showing the concern he'd held for her. Taking up her good hand as he sat himself in the chair beside her, he held her soft hand as if he expected her to break at any moment.
"Nayiah," Jaelyn spoke her name with relief, "I'm glad to see that you'll be alright. Sarylin wanted me to tell you she was sorry she could wait to see you herself but she has responsibilities at home that she had to care for. But she was happy that you would be alright." Having relayed the message he would smile at her before standing, watching her a moment before brushing hair out of her face with a gentle touch. "You and Sarylin have been great company Nayiah, I'm glad to have met you." It would almost sound like he was saying good bye. "Well, I'd best let you get your sleep so you can get better sooner. I'll be heading back to the Inn for the night ok?" Again, another lie passed his lips, as although he would be going back to the Inn, he wouldn't be staying any longer. "Good bye Nayiah." Lifting his hand in a wave he turned and walked out the door.
A short time later, he was back in his room at the Inn, having walked quickly but carefully back there from the healing center, making sure that no one took notice of him. As he sat on the beautifully made quilt he would be packing what he thought he could carry and would need the most into a single pack. He knew that he would eventually have to do this, begin to draw away from others and disappear into the wilderness. But it was hurting him much more then he thought it would have. Finishing up he would draw it closed and sat up to brush back his long hair from his face heaving a heavy sigh from his breast. So much for wanting some sort of life...
Opening the door to his room he would be about to sneak out but stopped as his eyes fell on a small bundle of food and coin. There was no note or anything, but he knew it was from Elzy, causing him to smile softly. Shaking his head, he should have known better then to think he'd be able to fool that woman. Taking it so that she wouldn't try to chase after him to make sure he had it, he tucked both away. If he could ever return, he'd pay her back many times more...
Thankfully as he was leaving the guards were too busy questioning people to find the monster to notice him as Jaelyn snuck past them and out the gate as night was falling. They'd yet to close it, most likely only to do that once it was too dark to see properly. Getting immediately out onto the road as he would begin traveling onwards. Jaelyn was moving at a slower pace then the one that Sarylin had taken, but it was a steady one. With no destination in mind, he couldn't help but feel heavy with regret of having to leave...

Flopping back in the cool tall grass of small clearing of the forest, Sarylin looked up to the orange cascading sky, night befalling the summer months in slow melody. The evening had been gracious enough to not infest her with mosquitoes, as she ran her fingers through the crown of her hair.
Her mind had been eerily quiet the past while making any thoughts of the prior happenings of the day seem like a terrifying dream. Closing her eyes the heat of the evening felt blissful on her body as she did little to move around.
Sounds of the wilderness was a enchanting melody of beauty, birds called to one another- mocking and chirping filling the canopies – as the sound of insect songs gave a rhythm to it all. In the distance she could hear the thundering gallop of wild horses – she only knew this because she had seen from before the stallion seen her. It was peaceful.
Eyes popped open as she listened to the grumble of her pleading stomach, forcing her to sit up and slump her shoulders. Okay she really wasn’t a hunts man, only proving she was a city kid. She knew how to handle herself if someone came approaching her, but hunting anything made her squimish. She didn’t want to kill anything, nor did she know what sort of wild berries were safe enough to eat. So against the will of her hunger, she hadn’t eaten. She didn’t want to dare the chance of eating something that would poison her.
“Smooth move you moron,” she spoke out loud to herself. “Sure run off before you set yourself up, yup I am a real thinker!” the accent made her sound rougher than she meant too, but she was alone so the problem was only thought by herself.
Scratching the back of her head, Sarylin studied the ground around her as the tall grass waved in the soft breeze. Her mind rattled trying to remember anything her father taught her about the woods, but she found no avail in it.
Crossing her legs, hands resting on her shins letting her eyes crane around the small clearing. She would survive a night without food, a village or hamlet would be close tomorrow so there would be no worry. Though the water issue was harder to ignore.
She had gone searching earlier for a small creek but found that this part of the lands didn’t hold many streams or rivers. If it did, most were underground to make the lush forest flourish. Finally after another belittling of herself and lack of camping skills, she plucked a shoot of tall grass to strip it. Relieving the soft white root at the end, she stuck it to her lips nibbling on it lightly. If there was one thing she knew, making her own saliva was the best thing.
Letting out a deep sigh, she soon found herself pushing her bare feet beneath her body to stand.
The trees around her were gnarled making it rather difficult to climb up, but if there was anything she was going to do, it was to sleep in the camouflaged comfort of the canopies. She had to be careful not to put her hands into the sticky sap that some trees excreted while others were so barren from leaves that it would be silly to climb them.
Ultimately she decided on an older thick truck tree to call her tent for the night. It took a lot of grunting and swearing, but eventually she sat aloft in the branches; feet dangling over the branch she sat on. Lowering her belly to rest on the branch as well, Sarylin let out a exasperated sigh. She shouldn’t have left the pair so promptly, especially as unprepared as she was, but that was one thing about her. She was the type to act first think later. Brash.
But her fear was the werewolf. That was the reason she was up in the tree. If the beast somehow made its appearance again, she prayed it couldn’t climb and she was high enough in the tree to be ignored.
Looking up to the faint image of the moon, she noted the waning gibbous phase of it. A day or so and it would be full. Another fear. Stories told of the men cursed would turn during the full moon, did that mean the werewolf she seen… would be stronger than before?
“I pray for the safety of anyone close to the man when that happens.” She muttered, her eyes half opened as she pressed her cheek to the back of her hand.

~While sitting in the single bed, Nayiah's mind wondered. As she couldn't help but find her thoughts on Sarylin. Wondering what her friend was doing. And how she was holding up. Nayiah hadn't meant to ruin either of Sarylin's day or Jaelyn's. Almost feeling guilty for something she had absolutely no control over. As Jae entered the room where she was laying in the bed,her eyes lit up as a gentle smile crept on her face. Her eyes held warmth and emotion at seeing him. They held acceptance, friendship and loyalty. Her expression softened, seeing the concern Jae had for her. Her oak brown eyes glanced down at Jae's hand. A soft blush formed on her cheeks as he held her hand. Nayiah wouldn't pull away as she gave him a smile. Hearing his kind words, made her feel truly blessed. Knowing that she had met someone who cared about her well being. That she had met two people that touched her life. “I'm glad that your alright, too. I was so worried about you, Jae. And Sarylin too.” ~Nayiah responded with a relieved look in her eyes. Her ears twitched slightly. Her oak brown eyes gazed into Jae's as she studied his face. Listening to him with care. Showing him respect by looking at him, as he spoke. Though hearing Jae's words about Sarylin, made her ears furrow back. Almost in a sad fashion. Disappointment showed as clear as day on her face.~ “I'm sorry to have her go. Call me crazy...but I didn't want to be apart from either of you guys. You two have made my day. Well my life. I've never had friends before. Especially none like you two. I hope she'll make it home safe.” ~Nayiah said ignoring the few tears falling down her cheeks. Seeing Jae smiling at her, calmed her sadness. Even though she would greatly miss Sarylin. She would always be in Nayiah's heart and thoughts. Though hearing Jae's words, blushing as Jae brushed her hair. It felt like a gentle touch. Something inside Nayiah's heart tugged at her. Hearing his words, made her fear something. Feared he was saying goodbye too. Was he walking out of her life too? She felt sick suddenly. She didn't want to say goodbye to either of her friends. “Jae...” ~Nayiah said his name hoping he wouldn't try to leave. It was obvious she had something on her heart she wanted to say. Hoping he would stop so she could speak to him tell him. More tears fell down her cheeks.~ “Don't be like that, Jae. You have been wonderful, I've never had anyone care about me. Like you and Sarylin. If it's because I saw you change. I don't care, Jae. I saw. I know what you are. But I don't care. I wasn't afraid of you. I was afraid of that noble who struck me down. Do you know how long I have had to run, never had a chance to feel freedom, or happiness. Until I met two wonderful caring people. I don't want to part from either of you.” ~Nayiah spoke the truth as her voice shook and more tears fell down. Why did she disbelieve him about going to the Inn. Why did she have a sick feeling in her heart? Hearing the good bye, made it even worse. But she couldn't stop him from leaving. She wondered if he was leaving due to the fact a reward had been placed on the capture of the wolf. She had accidentally overheard the healer speaking about it. Thanking Jae for everything, Nayiah watched painfully as Jae left. As Jae walked out of the healers place, sadly Nayiah wasn't able to follow. She would have liked to. In fact she had even tried to. Though her efforts were stopped by the healer insisting she needed her rest. Even though she was right. Nayiah vowed she would find Jae. This wasn't goodbye. She vowed silently she would see both her friends again. She had to hope that. Eyes closing she would rest, though it took her longer to. Eventually someone had witnessed Jaelyn transforming. Even though that person was too afraid to describe Jaelyn's looks. They had informed the guards about seeing Nayiah with him. Surprise showed in Nayiah's eyes, as she suddenly saw the guards coming inside the room she was in. It was evident that she was to be questioned. Due to Nayiah needing rest. The healer convinced the guards to question her first where she was. It was hard, having to deal with the guards. Even if Nayiah had known a lot about Jae, she wouldn't have betrayed him. Though truthfully, Nayiah didn't know much. Nayiah was thankful they believed her. Watching them leaving, Nayiah prayed Jae was out of the village by then. Fear for him. Nayiah made a silent prayer for his safety.~

"Don't be silly Nayiah, I'll just be at the Inn for the night," Jaelyn would laugh, hiding the pain he felt at lying to her behind a mask of a smile. One of the few good things about growing up in nobility, he knew how to lie as it was one of the more favorite games. "You just dreamed that you saw me change... I can assure you Nayiah, I am no werewolf." He insisted to her, shaking his head. Was she insane saying all of that right where healers could hear her?! After that would be when he said goodbye and walked out.
As he walked his eyes would drift up to the moon, looking to it's phase and frowning as he realized just how close it was getting to the full moon. It was really a good thing he was leaving the city after all then. Less people to endanger and the further he made it from others, the better. Sighing heavily he clenched his hand tight around the strap of his pack thrown over his shoulder as his boots crunched against the dirt. It was a lonely road to travel but it was best that way. Maybe he'd get lucky and find a cure out there, but for now it was better not to endanger others, as much as he would miss the two girls who he hoped would remain safe. At least with Nayiah he was sure everyone would've forgotten the noble striking her down and going after her to finish her off.
Continuing to walk even as it got darker and darker outside, Jae wasn't sure if he should camp for the night. Think perhaps it'd be better if he pushed himself for the next day or two and that way maybe his Beast self would be too tired to do too much. At worst if that didn't work it'd get him further away from the city and people... Sighing heavily as he didn't like the idea of not sleeping, he would decide that was the best idea and continued onwards, pulling his grey coat tighter around himself.
It'd be as he was walking down a portion of the road that strayed closer to some trees that he would pick up a scent that he realized was familiar. And although he knew that he shouldn't follow it, for the sake of giving himself away and that he should keep his distance from her for her safety, he would find himself unable to do so. Drawn in her direction he would shake his head at himself, knowing it was a bad idea, but it wouldn't go away, niggling at the back of his mind. So giving in, he would follow her scent to the tree that she was laying in. Stopping at the base of the trunk he considered what he should do, raking back his ebony black hair. If anything he shouldn't be dangerous for the night, it wasn't the full moon after all... And by spending the night at the base of the tree she was sleeping in, he could protect her if anything came their way.
Having at least rationalized a good idea for following her scent he would slump against the trunk of the tree and slid down it to sit against it's base after he'd taken the pack off and dropped it next to himself. It wouldn't be easy staying awake, but he was determined to do so.

Gentle breathing came out in light strides as she made sure before she fell asleep to adjust herself so she wouldn’t fall out of the tree. She didn’t need to be black and blue all over from the growing stupidity of herself.
Morning light strode upon the moist canopies, as she grumbled loudly at the brightness smacking her straight in the face. She had to pick the spot where the leaves didn’t shade out her face.
Swinging a limp arm upwards to rub her face in a lazy motion, Sarylin smacked her lips with the dry taste in her mouth. Her tongue was thick and leathery with each swallow, making the annoyance of her current state that much more annoying.
The branch jiggled with the movement of her body, as she sat up. Muscles were kinked in painful twists, making the soft flutter of a swear rip past her mouth. Legs dangled over as she glanced briefly down to the base of the tree. At first leisurely eyes came back up to let a small wistful smile spread over her cheeks, until her ears jolted upwards!
A small cry came from her, as she snapped her body right up close to where the branch sprouted from the trunk. Wide wild eyes peering back down to the crown of ebon hair. There was no way there was a man camping out beneath her.
Fingers etched around the bark of the trunk allowing her to inch her face outwards, to get a better look at the person. It took a moment as she was still far groggier than she liked, before she realized whom it was.
“Jaelyn?” her voice cracked through the silence of the damp morning. Spreading herself over the branch again, she swung herself down somewhat gracefully to land behind the tree and the man she believed was Jaelyn. How on earth did he find her? She was certain she gave herself a fair amount of distance from the castle town and yet… here he was. Where was Nayiah?
Tracing her feet in a side stride, her hands were spread wide in a aggressive stance while she moved in a circular motion to fully look at the vision of a exiled man. Dew made her feet slick but it was refreshing to ease the tired feeling from the ball of her feet.
Lowering herself to sit on her heels, Sarylin made sure to keep some distance between her and Jaelyn. Certainly this was too obvious? She seen a werewolf, maybe this was some sort of sorcerer mimicking the noble she sorta knew, trying to get her to drop her guard. Right now, anything was possible.
Pushing her bottom lip out a bit further, Sarylin squinted an eye to the man now making herself cautious of the situation.
“Where is Nayiah?” she asked firstly. If this wasn’t Jaelyn then he wouldn’t possibly know Nayiah too… right? Her logic was messed up as she felt completely frazzled but still very leery of the oddity of the situation. “How did you find me?”
