The following is an extract of a race in my own writing. I allow use of this race and the accompanying attachment, so long as you credit me should anything be submitted using these rules. That's all I ask, and that you have fun using the stuff I come up with.
*attached is an RTF that can be used for playing D&D 3E or 3.5E.*
Name of Race: Cat-Descendant.
Basic Description:
Those who have descended from cats. Usually have cat ears and a tail, sometimes a different nose, but are otherwise human or other humanoid races (like elves, dwarves).
History:
In the beginning, a werecat got frisky with an actual cat. From there, the bipedal cat was formed, being almost human, but looking like a freak. Over time, breeding with other humanoid races has brought them to what they are now.
Personality: Most cat-descendants don't have a trend in personalities, but most of them go-all googly-eyed when something moves quickly.
Physical Description:
Cat-descendants look like any other humanoids, except for the ears and tail which are more like a cat's. The ears and tail can be any colour or pattern. Where noses are concerned, they are usually black or pinkish, but are not always existant.
Morality: most cat-descendants lean toward neutrality, but only because they aren't really bothered by events in the world.
Homeland: It is unsure where cat-descendants first came from, but it is likely that the desert land of Pyralmis (Egypt) is where werecats first originated from.
Relations with Others: cat-descendants tend to get along with other cat-descendants, but the males can be territorial, and females quite dominant.
Society: cat-descendant society doesn't really have any codes or rules. Catnip is considered evil by the more pious cats, but it is a commonly enjoyed substance. But with all substances, it can be harmful if used in excess.
An example of misuse is when my character Kaira met my other character Driphtyr. Both had been using 'nip at a party and Kaira suddenly kissed Driphtyr. That was the beginning of their friendship.
Traditions:
Females go into heat between the ages of sixteen and eighteen (sometimes as old or young as fourteen or twenty), and have been known to be uncontrollable.
Males often go through a similar process, but instead of being in heat, they find themselves seeking out females. When one from either gender in these states meet, you can guarantee some action.
Language and Literacy: all cat-descendants speak common and felven, the language of the cats. Some learn the languages of other descendant races.
Names: K is a common letter among names of cat-descendant families. "Kitin" for example, as in "Driphtyr Kitin", or Kaira, as in "Kaira Tomara".
Racial Traits/ Natural Abilities: cat-descendants have a naturally good sense of sight and hearing. They are usually nimble, but not very strong.
Additional Details: DEY IS TEH KITTEHS.
