Each Nature elf is intricately linked with nature itself, their very beings immersed. This means every single nature elf are able to contol the elements to a certain extent, as well as speak to animals, use the life force of nature itself to heal and feel the pain of nature itself. As well as the previously listed abilities, when each elf reaches a maturity they become bonded to an animal, essentially their spirit animal, one that protects them and guides them if needed. Once the elf and the animal meet, the animal will only tell their name to the elf that is their companion and will be able to speak in the common language once the bonding has been completed, and although it may sound only as an added ability, it is a very important thing for an elf of Kytti's homeland. Only once a teenaged elf has become bonded are their bodies able to have children. Of course there is always the possibility that an elves companion will not be found, due to premature death or another unfortunate accident, so long ago there was a school made to remedy the fact that the elf was unable to start a family, a school that concentrated mainly in the arts of healing. This school is called the School of Enlightenment, designed for the enlightenment of the healing arts. The elves who have to go through this schooling all become Healers, referred to Matrons for females and Patrons for males, also become the adoptive parents for any unfortunate children who lose their parents. Usually in their early maturity each elf's strengths will come out, which ability they are strongest in, usually leading to which profession they are taught in. Either than the Healers, there is other jobs, depending on the elves specialty. There are Naturalists, the elves who care for all the plants in the village, they excel at their natural ability for growing and caring for all plantlife. Tamers care for any livestock, bond companions and also serve as hunters, they excel at their ability to communicate and soothe animals. Guardians are the protectors of the village, they excel of course in their fighting abilities and tend to be the most well-rounded in their abilities. And last but not least are the Mineralists, they take care of any work that deals with minerals, such as stone, jewel, metal, and other such things, they excel at pulling out and shaping any such thing as mentioned from the earth. The Nature Elves select a ruler, not by family lineage but by whoever is the strongest overall, allowing them to deal with the responsibilities of rulership properly.
Nature Elf Abilities; In Depth
As outlined above Nature Elves have quite a few abilities, and normally are proficient in very specified areas. Here is the detailed list of their abilities:
Control of the Elements;
This is probably the biggest one since there are so many elements out their either than the basics many are normally familiar with, this stems from their deep connection to Nature and the planet itself. Whenever a Nature Elf uses an element their eyes will glow a certain color to show that they are using that element. As well, normally each use of their abilities will tire them out, the more difficult ability the more tiresome. The list of the elements and anything relevant is as follows;
Fire: The most difficult things to do with this element is to create fire from no source, the bigger the flame the more energy is used, or making it form into a shape permanently. Lesser abilities include manipulating already created fire, by moving it, touching it, increasing it's heat or decreasing it, or making it form shapes temporarily, etc. For example every day purposes include lighting multiple objects, or moving it off of one thing to another, and for fighting purposes they can use it to create shields, fiery weapons or spell-like abilities such as fireballs. Whenever this element is used their eyes glow a fiery red.
Water: The most difficult things to do with this element is to again create water from no source, the larger the amount the more energy is used, or making it form into a shape permanently. Lesser abilities include manipulating it, making it move from one place to another, making it turn into ice or shaping it temporarily, etc. For everyday use examples they can make liquids rise from a holding container and move it into another, or gathering spilled water, and for fighting they can use it to create shields, watery weapons or even water balls. Whenever this element is used their eyes glow a dark blue.
Earth: The most difficult thing to do is create stone from nothing. Lesser abilities include manipulating it to sculpt it, move it, breaking it down, etc. Everyday uses can include shaping and sculpting things, while fighting they can create shields or weapons, short and long range such as projectiles. Whenever this ability is used, their eyes glow a soft brown.
Air: The most diffult things to do is to create air where there is none or permanently shaping it. Lesser abilities include manipulating air, such as to create wind, whirlwinds, tornadoes, breathing underwater, etc. Everyday uses would be for blowing out small flames, moving small objects and fighting they can make shields, or use it to push enemies away or balls of air. Whenever this ability is used their eyes glow a soft blue.
Minerals: The most difficult thing to do is create a mineral, such as a jewel, or metal. Lesser abilities include drawing it from the earth, manipulating it, shaping it, hardening it, etc. Everyday uses of course include shaping metal into weapons or needed items, etc, and fighting is creating weapons and armor, etc. Their eyes glow the color of the mineral they are using.
Nature: The most difficult things to do is create a plant from nothing, such as an plant seed from nowehere or overwhelming and taking control of an animals mind. The ability to shapeshift into animals is also included under this element, however it is very rarely ever mastered by anyone but the most powerful, although it does not take a great amount of energy, it takes a great amount of skill. Lesser abilities include speeding the growth of a plant, or reversing it, shaping a plant, calming an animal down, calling an animal, etc. Everyday uses include cultivating plants for food, calming down mounts, etc and fighting it can be used to create plant shields, or call an animal to attack if one willing can be found. Whenever this element is used their eyes glow green.
Life: The most difficult things to do is bring someone back from the dead, or anything like that, impossible for any average single elf, and certainly life threatening skill to use even by a very skilled and very powerful elf. Lesser abilities include healing, etc. Very straight forward element. Whenever this element is used, their eyes glow white.
Death: This element is rarely used, and even more rarely taught to anyone at all, so most of whoever uses it, finds out how to do it on their own, and usually takes a great amount of energy. The most difficult thing would be outright killing someone. Lesser abilities would be killing plantlife, draining life from something, wilting something, etc. Fairly straight forward as well. Whenever this element is used, their eyes glow black.
Combined Elements: Nature Elves can also combine the elements they are using, to manipulate or create things that are made of multiple elements such as creating hot water, etc. The more difficult of course uses more energy.
Speaking to Animals: All Nature Elves have this ability naturally as they are taught it from their elders. It does not take any uses of their abilities or anything like that, as their capability to speak the animal's language comess from what they have learned and practiced. Animals may or may not choose to listen to them as this does nothing either than allow them to communicate with animals.
Connection to the Earth: All Nature Elves are born with the ability to feel the pain of the earth, plants and animals near them. The more intune a nature elf is with the earth the more they can feel, and the further out they are in tune with it.
Nature elves tend to be quite beautiful in their appearance, graceful and elegant naturally. Most people who see them tend to mistake them for Fae because of their naturally delicate appearing beauty, or something along those lines. Most Nature elves are fairly tall and willowy, their average height the same as a humans although they can grow taller than humans sometimes. Their hair and eye color as well are fairly average in the variety it has, although tend to be very beautiful shades. For example a blonde Nature elf will usually have shades of golden blonde to the softness of platinum blonde at it's lightest. Their skin color is white typically, generally very pale that it will glow in certain types of light. However, in the later years of a Nature Elf it is possible for their skin color to change, depending on the magicks they use, for example a Naturalist will sometimes take on a green tinge to their skin. Tamers tend to develop a pattern on their skin similar to that of their bond companion. In essence it is depending on the element they work most with.
