Biography:
The night of December 21st, 2003 was silent in the badly lit alleyway. The young child that came into the world then seemed to be stillborn, not breathing, moving or making a sound. The mother, barely hanging onto life, and the father clung to the babe, sobbing. Although they were poor, homeless and the mother ill, they had been looking forward to the child's birth. However, a strange thing would occur. It began to snow, the flakes coming down softly around them, and when a single snowflake landed on the newborn's forehead she would suddenly begin to stir, her big eyes opening to show her mismatched blue eyes. In the soft light her eyes seemed to sparkle as she made a soft cooing sound and smiled up at them. They could barely believe their eyes, having thought she wasn't alive. But they couldn't help but smile at her cute little smile. Although it seemed as if a miracle had occured, a tragedy also occured shortly after their child's recovery. Her mother, deathly ill with a sickness they couldn't afford to cure, would lay back down, her eyes glued to her child's face. Her father held her, while her mother reached for her, and with her last shuddering breath uttered one word, "Sparkle", then she passed on. The girl's father, devastated by his mate's death wanted to give up then, but decided not to because of the beautiful miracle he held in his arms. He would also decide to name her the last word her mother had spoken, naming her Sparkle.
The days following her birth and death of her mother were hard, but her father would do everything he could. Feeding her wasn't easy, but he was able to always gain enough help to survive. And she was always easy to deal with, thankfully suffering from few illnesses and rarely very fussy. It was very hard for her father to gain work as well especially with having such a young child to care for, so would usually have to sneak her into the workplace if he couldn't find someone to care for her. This was usually what got him fired, but there was nothing he could do about it. So the first few years of her life they moved around a lot, often living on the street, or small rundown apartments.
Once the girl became old enough to care for herself, at least enough that he could leave her alone for any time without any terrible happening to her life became a little more steady. Able to hold down a job longer, the two of them were able to settle in a place for longer intervals now. Sparkle learned things quickly and was able to do basic things for herself by the time she was 4, such as entertaining herself with the few toys her father had gotten for her, or watching cartoons during the short time they had an old tv that barely worked. Also able to feed herself he made her enough food to last the times he was gone and just left it in her reach. Because of being so poor he didn't have to worry very much about her getting into things due to not having them. Things were far from perfect, but to Sparkle it was like paradise. Her father loved her and gave her lot's of attention when he could, taking her out and doing things with her.
That was until she was almost 5 and her father became ill as well with the same disease her mother had. And once again, they could not afford the medication that he needed. Although they were doing better, they were not doing well enough. At first he wasn't too badly off and he continued working, but it progressed quickly and eventually he could no longer go to work. Because he knew they wouldn't have enough money for rent, he kept his last cheque and bought Sparkle a pretty fur coat she had been admiring for her birthday. And then she was alone a few days after she was 5 years old, her father having died in front of her. Most 5 year olds would have been confused by death, but Sparkle knew what it was having been around street people and others with terrible health all her life. She also knew what would happen to her if the police found her and knew that she was now an orphan. So Sparkle did what she thought was best, packed up her few belongings and hit the street.
Things were tough on the child, for although she knew a little more then others her age, she was still only a young girl and didn't know who to trust and who not to. Because of this there would be close calls due to various types of people, but each time she would escape just barely.
She has now been living on the streets for almost a year and lost everything that she owned except for the precious fur coat her father had given to her. Wandering about the streets of Japan, she's been watching people as well from the shadows, a very shy girl now. However recently she spotted a place that seemed interesting, having come in sight to see a man picking up a child and holding him with much care, even though she had seen the poor tot dropped off and abandoned there...
